In 2013 we embarked on a series of Iron Age workshops where we grew Ancient Scottish crops in School and Community playgrounds.  We then processed the crops and produced bread, dyes, and porridge.  We want to expand our seed bank every year, in terms of the varieties and volumes.  But this isn't a seed museum, this is a working seed bank, we want to use the seeds every year and to collect some of the harvest to replenish the seed bank.

So if your school or community group is interested in history and growing plants, why not embark on a project where you grow your own? Our plant projects can be linked into all of our history topics.  We also have milling stones and equipment to plough, harvest, and thresh crops, dye wool, spin wool etc...
